Austin! (Week 1)

Hello Beautiful People!

Wow what a roller coaster I went on again these last two weeks!  So bad and now so good!

I am glad to say that I weighed in this morning for the first dietbet that is due this week and I.....WON!  I had to be at 195.5 and i was at 194.4lbs!  Awesome!  I thought it was a long shot when I was still up over 5 lbs last week but I did it!  Nothing like cramming it all in at the last second!  I'll find out how much I won after everyone weighs in by the end of tomorrow.

I still have 1.6 lbs to lose by the end of Saturday for the second dietbet.  I don't know if that is possible but I sure am going to try!  Losing my money is definitely my biggest motivator but also I wanna be able to tell people when they ask how my dietbet went..."um, I Won!" (crazy dance, use your imagination)

Fitbit update! I got my helicopter badge for reaching 500 floors climbed which is the altitude of a helicopter!  Crazy!

So, right now I am in Austin, TX for two weeks of training.  I just wanna say that I absolutely love Austin!  I know some people have said that I have drank the "Texas Juice" but I really do love this state!  Austin is so bike, run, and walking friendly (at least where I am staying).  Also they are incredibly dog friendly!  Today I ran along the Colorado River where there are dirt trails.  The views were amazing!  One way you could see the skyscrapers and the other way you could see these beautiful wooded area.  Also there were lots of off the leash areas for dogs!  Rosalie would love it here!

Today was a beautiful running day with a cold breeze and into the 50s so that meant everyone was out running.  I felt like a very pitiful runner as lots of people passed me as I huffed and puffed but I did feel like a runner as I pushed on.  I did have to stop a couple times because of cramps but I was keeping a much fast pace than I do usually.  I think I was running faster because I was excited to see where the trail would lead!

It was great to get some varying terrain too.  Since I started running its been on sidewalks or a treadmill so really all pretty level.  The trails along the river and anything but pretty level.  It was definitely a struggle but a welcome one that I hope will make me stronger.

As I walked back to my hotel I could hear the music from a band playing at a nearby restaurant and I could see a frozen custard place.  It was an easy decision to say no to the custard but I am keeping it in mind as a little treat after I reach my dietbet goals. All in moderation of course!

Thank you for reading!
